Contribution
Course Reserves collections must balance affordability, accessibility, copyright compliance, and evolving modes of course delivery. Prior to redesign, submission workflows were fragmented, and integration of open and electronic materials was inconsistent.
Contribution
I designed and implemented a digital submission workflow that streamlined faculty requests and integrated physical, licensed electronic, and open educational resources within a unified process. I also collected and analyzed annual usage data to inform renewal and acquisition decisions.
Outcome
Outcome
The redesigned workflow contributed to a 13% increase in collection usage over one academic year and strengthened alignment between library holdings and curriculum needs.
Reflection
Reflection
This project reinforced my belief that collections strategy extends beyond acquisition to include usability, visibility, and clear communication with faculty. Thoughtful systems design can significantly enhance collection impact without increasing expenditures.
